About me

Dominik Platzer, born in Austria in 1995, is a contemporary artist working with abstract, geometric acrylic painting.
From an early age, he was drawn to creative expression, spending much of his childhood drawing, experimenting, and developing a strong visual curiosity.
During his school years, he was given the opportunity to create large-scale wall paintings, marking his first experiences with working directly in and for architectural space.
In 2015, his engagement with drawing re-emerged through realistic works such as portraits and figurative studies.
Despite this early artistic inclination, Dominik chose a technical path and completed his education in automation engineering, a field in which he has worked professionally for over nine years.
After relocating to Graz, this practice gradually shifted toward painting, where his interest in structure, reduction, and color began to take shape. Influenced by contemporary abstract positions, he started working with acrylics and developed a visual language rooted in clarity, balance, and geometric composition.
Today, Dominik’s work is characterized by clean forms, controlled processes, and a series-based approach. His technical background continues to inform his artistic practice, shaping a methodical way of working in which precision and intuition coexist. He is currently expanding his practice while pursuing an independent artistic path alongside his technical profession.
